We used polystyrene to make these prints. The patterns used are the ones found in Siapo (tapa) cloth in Samoa. The patterns are based on patterns seen in the natural world.

Making Sapa Sui (Samoa) by Mia and Ella
Making Sapa Sui!!! (from Samoa)
Today we are making
sapa sui for our shared lunch. We are having a shared lunch to say goodbye to our
friend Ngaire.
We needed chopped
carrots, onion, garlic and ginger.
We put the thin
cut onion into a pot and Des stirred it.
Next we put the
cut carrot, ginger and garlic into the pot. We put the peas into the pot as
well. Then the noodles went in the main part with soy sauce. Stir really well.
You need to let it set once you have stirred it for a while. Then get ready to
eat!!!
